Oldsmobile/Buick: CD Player, olds aurora, hi matthew

My olds Aurora 1995 has an in-dash Cd player that shows er 22 or 23 messages and the Cd does not work. The radio and cassette player work. There is a theftlock on this system. Canyou enlighten me on how I can get the CD Player to work?

Sounds like you have some lost memory in the programming chip in the stereo unit or maybe possible damage. Like a computer the "ER" is an error message. You will have to take it to a qualified stereo tech, who has access to the schematic to decode the error numbers to find out what's wrong. Delco cd units have always experienced problems once the unit gets a little age. Get an estimate first. The unit may cost more to fix than it's worth. With the vast hi-end stereo units availiable today, you can get a better quality unit for the same or less money with the same features. Hope this help! Ray
