Pontiac: Fast Idle, fuel pressure gage, vacuum leaks

Question
I have a 1995 pontiac grand prix se 3.1 liter.  I recently put rebuilt fuel injectors in it and ever since my idle has been fast.  It idles between 2000 and 3000 rpm's.  When hooked up to my hand held scanner the only thing that comes up is IAC.  I put a new idle air control valve on but changed nothing.  I have put a fuel pressure gage on it and I am in the limits of the service manual before and after start up. 44 psi with the key on and 36 psi when running. What else can I do?  Doesn't seem to be any vacuum leaks either.  I feel like it is something simple however I can't find it.  Please help.

Answer
Brad,

You stated: I put a new idle air control valve on but changed nothing.

Did you follow the installation instructions EXACTLY or did you just simply install it ?. BE HONEST !!.

Did you have the REBUILT fuel injectors PRESSURE POP-OFF and FLOW VOLUME tested ?. Just because they were REBUILT or NEW does NOT guarantee that they WORK correctly.

I ca see your thoughts. WHAT, Is this guy NUTS ?. No, He is NOT, I have lost count of how many bad and or INCORRECTLY adjusted rebuilt or even NEW injectors tha I have seen over the years. I ALWAYS test EVERYTHING before I install it on the vehicle.

On some models that are 2 different IAC pintle designs, Are you SURE yours is CORRECT ?. Could it have been boxed WRONG ?. Is it even the correct one ?. BOXED wrong ?.

Are your IAC counts within specs ?

NEVER EVER assume a part is 100% correct until you verify and test it.
