Question
Thanks for the speedy answers I only have 16k on the van it is a conversion by TIARA(MarkIII) bought in 2001. Without a diagram/schematic I am not sure what relays or wires to disconnect. should I take all the doors apart for the activation switch?

Thanks Harold - It is all the door locks including the rear. They sound like they are activated, and even move a little when the switches are pressed, but very rarely go to full lock or unlock positions. If it helps I first noticed it on the drivers door lock but within a month noticed all were not activating fully.

Hi - I am having trouble with the electric door locks on a 2000 astro. It seems to open about half the time but will no longer lock all the locks. this happens even when using the door switch. At first it would only not work if i tries a few times in a row. I would wait a mionute and they lokked and un-locked normally.
it seems like a relay isn't passing enough current to activate them fully.  Is there any site I can use to help me troubleshoot the system?
Thanks

You are on a web site that helps diagnose problems.
You need to give me some better info if you want help.
Is it just one of the doors that is having the problem or all of them? Tell me EXACTLY what the locks are doing and I will try to help you.

Usually if the locks are trying to move but wont fully lock or unlock, the lock actuator is bad. Is it possible that all of your lock actuators are worn out? It could be that the drivers door lock actuator(since it was the first one you noticed) is drawing to much current and not letting the others work properly. You could try unplugging that actuator to see if the rest start working again.

Answer
Just take off the drivers door panel first, since it was the first one to have trouble. Plug the switch back in after the panel is removed. Unplug only the door lock actuator inside the drivers door. Now hit the switch and see if the rest of them are working again. If they are, replace the drivers door lock actuator.
