Saab: automatic, saab 95, transmission fluid

Question
I have a saab 95 automatic, when its in park or neutral and i put it into drive node it pauses then jerks, when i put it in reverse its fine and when i am driving it changes gear very smoothly, do you think theres something wrong?

Answer
Kate:
Your description is typical of a transmission that is either slightly low on fluid, or needs a fluid change.  I would recommend the latter, i.,e., renewing the transmission fluid and accompanying filter.
 I believe that will help.
If, on the unlikely possibility that it does NOT, then the indications are that the transmission is "just at the beginning" of its 'wearout' phase. By prudent, gentle driving, however, you can prolong this phase for many thousands of kilometers.
               Hope this helps,
