Saab: wont start 89SAAB900 TURBO, Saab fuel pump testing

Question
I recently got a 900  turbo that has not been driven for 2 years. Left front has slight damage, so it was in an accident! Put in New battery, Plugs< Rotor, Dist. Cap,Fuel Pump and Guel Filter! Car turns over and trys to start but wont run! Number 1 cylinder has fuel in it but others are semi dry to dry, No Fuel in Fuel rail! I cannot hear fuel pump running either! What am I missing? Is there a fuel cutoff switch that could have gone bad from slight hit and if so where might it be? HELP PLEASE....GETTING TICKED

Answer
Scott:
There is no fuel cutoff switch, but there is a fuel pump relay whose operation is sustained by signals coming from the crankshaft position sensor, which is like the master clock. I would recommend first testing the fuel by a simple procedure.
  a.  remove fuses 27 and 30
  b.  with the ignition OFF, connect a jumper wire between the INBOARD [engine side]
terminal of fuse 27 to the OUTBOARD terminal of fuse 30.

If the fuel pump runs only when the jumper is connected, the fuel pump relay or wiring is
is faulty on the control side. If the pump does NOT run, the problem is with the wiring   from the engine compartment to the fuel pump or with the fuel pump itself.

If it is with the control side, you'll need to check the fuel pump relay, located behind the outer carpeted wall of the passenger side footwell. If that still doesn't find the fault, please get back to me for somewhat more complicated troubleshooting procedures.

Also, note that some control modules are located behind the left front fender..does there appear to be any damage to them?

 Hope this helps,
