Saab: 1990 900 srs light, clockspring, airbag system

Question
I was having battery problems (live in NE. Battery dead in morning or battery light staying on for awhile-sometimes ABS stayed on) AAA came to jump it one day and said not battery. Replaced alternator 5 days ago. Starts fine -no battery or ABS light staying on but yesterday SRS came on blinking with startup and then went solid Same today. What do you think is up and typically how much to diagnose and reset. Is it battery related?

Answer
David:
I believe that the two observations...alternator issue and SRS light are coincidental and unrelated. The SRS light means there is a fault somewhere in the airbag system...99% of such faults are with the "clockspring", a connecting mechanism found in the hub of your steering wheel (as I'd alluded to in an earlier reply). I would get it looked at ASAP for reasons of safety.

   Hope this helps,
