Saab: car doesnt always start, crankshaft position sensor, neutral safety switch

Question
I have a 2001 Saab 9-3 SE and sometimes after I park it and then get back in it an hour later to leave again it won't start. All I see are the dash lights coming on and a click sound but nothing else. The engine does not even attempt to come on. Do I need a starter, or crankshaft position sensor, or a neutral safety switch? I am so confused!! If I wait an hour or so, it will start normally. Thanks!

Answer
Stephanie:
Sounds very much like the starter, starter solenoid, or neutral safety switch. If by "wiggling" the shift lever during attempting to start, you get results, then the neutral safety switch is at fault; otherwise, its likely the starter(including the solenoid).
