Saab: 1997 Saab Electrical, metal chassis, fog light

Question
I have a 1997 Saab 900 Turbo and it seems to have electrical problems. When the fog light comes on dim it starts, anytime you turn left the car loses power, Then when put in reverse the car will completly die out. Lastly all back lights mess up. When you use turn signal the brake lights will blink n brake lights seem to be always on or reverse lights come on when using brake.

As stated in my profile, my hands-on experience is limited to the older (Pre-1993) 900's, so I cannot help you directly. I can, however refer you to a website with the best source of info for your car that I know of that will give complete electrical schematics, diagrams, and component locations. At $25/year, its well worth it if you are a hands-on do-it-yourself person.
Logically, of course, you'll need to find the component or location that is common to all your observations...my guess is that it is a bad ground wire somewhere. It will be tedious to find it, but I know of no other way.
A simple experiment may help...in the trunk area, attach a wire from any of the lights low (ground) side to the metal chassis making a good connection.  This may restore the missing ground  check for symptoms. Try this in other areas of the car.

  Good Luck,
