Saab: injector problem, crankshaft position sensor, crankshaft sensor

Question
hi my saab 93 turbo does not start, mechanic says injectors are not firing.  So wht would stop injectors from firing?

Answer
Although I am not intimately familiar with the '93 models, I am with those slightly older...and for this discussion, I am assuming that the newer models use a similar system.
Signals for the injectors' firing are derived from a crankshaft position sensor..as the crankshaft passes a certain point, it sends a signal to the control computer to trigger an injector cycle. The "on" time of this cycle is carefully controlled by a combination of instantaneous engine parameters, such as load, temperature, speed, exhaust gas content etc. The "on" time determines the amount of fuel/cycle and thus the mixture.
To answer the question: most likely the crankshaft sensor followed by the control computer. Pay special attention to the wiring and particularly any signs of dirt, corrosion, or loose conductors.  Rather tedious, I am afraid.
