Toyota: 2600 RPM Limit, toytota, toyota dealer

91 Toytota 4X4, 22RE, Fuel Injected, 5 speed, Air, No Cruise.  Engine revs easily and smooth until 2600 RPM. At 2600 it feels like it hits a rev-limiter. Occurs at a standstill or while driving. Once under 2500 engine returns to normal.
Check Engine Lights comes on when this occurs and turns off a short time after engine returns to normal. Check Engine Light flashes 14 when shorted on diag.  What is my next move

Hello,

the light comes on (and the limiter, too), because there is a big problem with your ignition system. Have it checked by a professional toyota dealer, they will read the error code from the ECU and tell which is the problem.
