Toyota: 95 Toyota Celica Power Window, toyota celica, regulator assembly

Question
Maybe you can help me.  My driver side power window has gone out and it is stuck half way up.  I just wondered if you knew how much this was going to cost... I heard it's about $600 to repair and that's a lot.  So I guess that's my question. How much will it cost to repair it?  Do I have to buy a new motor for it or could it be a fuse?  I really don't want to be ripped off at the dealership either.  (I don't know much about this stuff at all.)  Thank you for your time.

Answer
$600 to repair this is a bit much.   Seeing as a entire motor/regulator assembly, brand new, wouldn't cost over 60 dollars, then your are really paying for labor.

Now, you could try to buy one and have a mechanic install it, how much less it would be is beyond me though.

Does it make any noise when you press the button?  When was the last time it worked?  Did you remember any noises you heard the last time it worked?  For example: My driver's window died on me.  The last thing I heard was a cracking glass sound..  The motor still made sound but the window didn't NOT come up.  I had the assembly replaced (through my warranty) and the problem has not happened again.
