Toyota: AC and Cruise Control, cruise control, expansion valve

Question
I replaced the evaporator and expansion valve on my 93 Corolla, and am wondering how much to tighten the tension screw on the expansion valve.  Can I crank it down?  There is a spring in there, so I know it must be designed to move, but how much should I tighten it?

I also have a broken cruise control.  I have checked all the fuses.  It worked intermittently, then not at all.  Any ideas?
thanks a lot

Answer
As per Toyota specifications.  That screw is 48 in. lbs.  (not ft. lbs.) of torque.

As far as the cruise control.  Have you had any warning lights come on?  I guess the easiest thing you can do is have a diagnostic test on your cruise controls ECU and take it from there.  It's a pretty detailed process but if you are up for some reading, write me back and I'll send you a link to a .PDF file for you to look over.
