Toyota: Toyota Avalon O2 Sensor, toyota avalon xls, toyota avalon

Question
My engine light came on in my 1998 Toyota Avalon XLS at 86,000 miles.  The mechanic said that it was my O2 sensor.  Is $350 a reasonable price for the replacement of that part.

Also, the car is paid for and starting to have problems.  I replaced the power steering pump/column and just returned the vehicle to the shop becuase the pump/column started to act up again.  I guess other than that, I am only doing maintenance: oil changes, breaks, rotors...  Is it time to replace the car?

Answer
Hello,

sorry I live in Switzerland, so prices may be different.. but It seems to be a correct price.

It's normal at this mileage that some problems come out, but if the engine runs fine, no oil leaks, gearbox is good, no rust overall, there is no need to replace the car.

Jack
