Toyota: Toyota ECHO, high mileage car, gas mileage

Question
I am a college student currently in the market for a car.  I have been looking for something inexpensive, small, relatively new, and with excellent gas mileage.  I came across a couple of 2003 ECHO coupes, automatic, each with about 25,000 miles, for $8999 from a dealership.  They seem to fit my criteria.  What I want to know is this:  what, if any, problems do you know of that can possibly occur with these cars?  Is there anything I should know about that might make me think twice about buying one?  Nine grand for a like-new car seems like a good deal-- would you agree?

Answer
they are great for there purpose.. cheap to run, great fuel econonomy and they last.. i have nothing bad to say about them. i consider them a commuter car or a high mileage car . great for the person who does high miles and likes no-frills vehicles. just do the maintence and it will last a long time
