Toyota: smoke out of exhust pipe, head gasket, burning oil

Question
giacom;

help! my son was driving his 1983 toyota sr 22 engine with 175,000 miles home from work when he saw smoke come out of his exhust and said it have a strong smell to it, what could cause this,
lately he noticed that the engine had a slightly
stronger vibration to it more than normal.

Answer
Hello!

Big problem! this is an internal engine damage. Maybe a cylinder, or the head gasket... difficult to say. If the smoke was white, the car was burning oil. Or a Spark plug is gone, and the engine works only with 3 cylinders instead of 4.
You must have it checked by a mechanic!

Hope this helps!
