Volkswagen: 71 bus accelerater cable, white lithium grease, accelerator cable

Question
I am having a problem feeding the cable through the tube. It gets stuck
with about two feet to go. It seems that the hose has an uphill climb on
the top of the gear box. Is there a way to get the hose straighter or a way
to make the carb end fit through the turn?help!

Answer
Hi Jason,

(I am assuming there is nothing obstructing it's way out, including a piece of broken accelerator cable)

Try using a little white lithium grease on the cable tip, also spray a little down the tube by the transmission.

Finally, if you jiggle the cable when it gets stuck...(almost like a very heavy 'vibration'), it will eventually come out.

I've had this problem myself, and with patience, it will come out!

Thanks

Ron
