Volkswagen: Charging System, haynes manual, generator light

Question
I have a 1970 Bus that we recently pulled out the engine and replaced all the tins.  After reinstalling the engine the generator light has come on, not the case before removing engine.  The battery is new the regulator is new, I am not sure if the wires were connected back correctly as I didn't do the work.  I have the Haynes Manual for it but that doesn't show a really good picture on how the wires connect from the generator to the voltage regular and to the battery, is there a good place to find the wiring diagram?  Also do you think the generator needs replaced?  Seems odd that the generator would go out all the sudden with just taking out the engine.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Jason,

That sounds like what happenend.  Here is a link to the correct wiring diagram for your bus.  It is pretty self-explanatory.

Best of luck and let me know how you make out.
