Volkswagen: is it a triple white convertible?, light ivory, alpine white

HI RON,
I HAVE A 1979 VW CONVERTIBLE. I WOULD LIKR TO FIND OUT IF IT IS A TRIPLE WHITE EDITION. IT BELONGED TO MY AUNT WHO KEPT ALL THE RECORDS INCLUDING THE WINDOW STICKER. I CANNOT SEE ON ANY PAPERS STATING THAT IT IS OR NOT ONE. IT IS ALPINE WHITE EXTERIOR ,WHITE TOP, AND WHITE INTERIOR.CAN YOU HELP ME? ANY INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Hi Colleen,

Although it does sounds like a triple white edition, you need to match your paint codes.  

Here is what I found out about that model type:

Available from 1976 through to 1979 a Triple White was the last VW Beetle Convertible ever built. Light Ivory (1976 - L80E paint; 1977 and 1978 - L90B; 1979 - L90E) with Opal (white) upholstery and Light Sand convertible top. 1977-1979 models featured factory installed whitewall tires.

Another unofficial VW of interest was the triple black 'Epilog' (no 'ue') which signified the end of an era: The last US model year for the 'ole beetle.
