Volkswagen: 1994 vw.,jetta 2.0 litre manual, master brake cylinder, vw jetta


Question
losing brake fluid, no visible leaks, occasionally blows white smoke from exhaust, occasionally wants to stall while driving, downshifting revving the engine higher stops the stall and keeps running, other than these symptoms the car runs like a charm., is it possible that the master brake cylinder is leaking brake fluid into the vacuum assist and
ultimately being sucked into the engine, and burning off while driving?

 I do not believe the brakes and smoke are related.  Brake fluid could leak from the master cylinder as well as the slave cylinders at each wheel; look closely on the inside of each wheel for trails of fluid.
