How do you take the radio out of a mk 5 golf, to able me to fit a hands free kit???

This will show you how to do it.  Your best bet is to use Bluetooth technology, as the 'old fashioned' hard-wired handsfree system does not allow you to connect to different blue tooth accessories.

Plus, you will not have to worry about the air bag controller, which is dangerously close to where you would need to work in removing all of the radio components.
