Volkswagen: 2000 Passat 1.8 Codes, hick ups, valve cover gasket

Question
I am getting a P0106 error code.  I replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor had the code reset and it has come back.  I also receive a second code of P0238, which I believe is the Turbo sensor.  Then, I have a hick-up when I first start the car.  I can rev it up, it hick-ups,  and then will run normal.  Is the hick-up related to the others?
Finally I appear to have an oil leak at the back of the intack.  Is that an easy repair of the gasget?  Thanks.

Answer
P0106 is not for the MAF.  It's for the charge air sensor which is located on the intercooler near the outlet.  P0238 is for the same part.  Check for voltage between pins 1 and 3 of the harness (about 4.5v).

The oil leak is at the back of the head near the VVT solenoid, right.  There is a half circle rubber seal in there that tends to shrink and cause leaks.  There are a few ways to fix it, but the correct way involves lifting the intake cam from it's journals.  Are you comfortable with that?  If not, you can lift just the tensioner and slide the new seal and gasket underneath.  You'll be working blind and there isn't much room.  If you are not careful, you can clog the tensioner oil port with sealant.  I prefer to lift the cam.  Either way, you'll need a special tool ($12) to clamp the tensioner.  When doing this, you may as well change the valve cover gasket too.
