Volkswagen: Anti Theft, robert bentley, ground nut

Hey buddy,I hope U can help Me.I cant Unlock the locked door on my Golf 99 with keys because the alarm goes off but I can lock and unlock it with remote. When the door is locked with the remote or key the anti theft LED doesn't blink.
Dont say anything about the dealer because I .....

no dealer huh buddy?  I suggest you buy the robert Bentley repair manual on your car then.  VW introduced two, (possibly three ) different alarm versions for the A4 cars and you could have any of them since this is an early version.  First thing to look at is the alarm horn itself and the trigger switches.  The alarm needs solid grounds or it goes bonkers on these cars.  My neighbors car did the exact same thing two weeks ago and he had replaced nearly everything before he brought it to me...  the alarm "horn" on his car was under the left wiper arm under the rain tray... we unscrewed and retightened the ground nut.. no more problems.  That said, you horn is probably under the drivers side front wheel well.  Check these points first because they are easy and cheap to fix, then get back to me.
