Volkswagen: Westfalia 1975 fuel injection - wont start when cold, cold start, time switch

Question
Hi there!
I own a 1975 Westfalia, 1700cc, fuel injection, standard. It just won't start when left not running for awhile. It runs great after I finally got it running. But it takes about 30 minutes each time to get it to run. I got it checked out by three guys and they don't have a clue why it's not starting properly everytime! Thanks...

Answer
There is a cold-start injector on this.   First make sure it's functioning properly.

Next, there is a 'thermo-time switch' which turns on the cold-start valve.  The thermo time switch cuts power off to the cold-start valve when the engine is warmed up.

Finally, there is a temperature sensor on number 3 cylinder.  It can also create a cold starting issue.
