Volkswagen: VW Polo 1.4 2002- $410 for Fan motor?, vw polo, polo 1

Hi Ron,

i have never posted on this website before, but i read few posts and i must say great job.

I have a VW polo 1.4 2002 model, i'm from Dubai (UAE. While driving my car overheated to 110-120, i checked the coolent and re-filled it, but it will get heated after 10-12 Kms.

I took it to my regular garage, they told me that the Fan motor assembly needs to be replaced. The price for the orignal and new part is $410! Is that a fair price?

i asked a used part delear and he told me that the fan motor assembly from brazil will cost me $190. Is it safe to put used part in VW polo??

Thank you for the kind comments.

1) $410.00 is not an acceptable price for a cooling fan!

2) $190.00 is quite expensive as well.  However, if you can get some type of limited warranty for the Brazilian one, it is probably worth it.
