Volkswagen: More questions, milege, running gear

Question
Hello Ron, first of all, I would really like to thank you so much for your advise, It has really helped me a lot, I would not even considere half of the stuff you said, and they all make sense to me. Thank you so much for every single tip, they're all more than welcome.

What would you considere the "so called" (low milege in a used golf?

Would you ever considere this vehicle a life time vehicle? Yes or not? Why?

At arround how much milege should I considere getting another vehicle?

I know lot of it depense in the treatment you give to the vehicle. But could you give me a rougth stimate please?

Answer
for a 2002 to 2003 car, i would consider 36000 miles to be quit a reasonable mileage (upto about 12000 miles per near is normal useage). Providing it is looked after properly, the car should easily reach 180000 miles without too much hassle. (have seen these engines with upto 320000 miles). I would consider a golf tdi to keep for 10 years or so depending on the mileage. (low mileage keep it longer). I would keep one a long time as they are reliable and sturdy cars, the bodywork is built to last etc, and the running gear is well engineered. ie not too complicated, but well proven.
