Volvo: Volvo 850 T5 estate - how to replace a/c dryer, tool trucks, release tool

Question
I need some advice please on how to replace the receiver dryer unit on my 850. I have read up on this already and plan to undo the bracket holding the dryer to the car , then disconnect the smaller pipe going into the low pressure side (the pipe with the filler valve) then drop the dryer and undo the big nuts on the main pipe using a couple of shifting spanners. Not sure how to disconnect the smaller pipe from the top of the dryer to the filler pipe on the car. The pipe on the car comes to a sort of bell end and the pipe from the dryer bottle just seems to be pushed into it. I cant see anything to release - do I just yank it out or push it in, then out, to release it?

Answer
Martin,
There is a special tool that is used to release the connection. The tool is pressed into the bell and that will release the connection. Going back together you push the two back together with the plastic ring you see on the pipe engaged with the bell end. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to seat the release tool so it will come apart. The tool should be available at an auto parts store or one of the tool trucks that sell tools to the repair shops.
