Volvo: V70--Parts Replacement, softer ride, trans fluid

Question
I own an 02 V70 with 83k miles.  The suspension rides rough but the car doesn't repeatedly bounce after you press down on the hood.  Should I replace the shocks and if so is there a non-OEM part that may give me a softer ride?

Also, what other major service should I be thinking about if I intend to keep the car for another 1-2 years?

Answer
Frank,
Those car have a harsh ride and as far as I know there are not any shock sets that will make it ride better. You might try ipdusa.com for more of a listing on shocks and springs.
Look into a trans fluid flush and the replcing the timing belt, along with the water pump, idler and tensioner pulleys.
