Volvo: 1998 Volvo S70, knuckle cracking, 1998 volvo s70

Mistakenly, I put the car in reverse while driving at about 10 mph.  Since then, when I put the car in drive, it creaks and makes a knocking noise(it sounds like a knuckle cracking, but it's the car's knuckles and not a finger!).  The Car has no problems driving; I was just curious if I should just ignore this noise or if I should get it checked out?  Thanks

Get it checked out. Since there is the possibility of damage happening you need to be sure. If there is a clunking that is external form the trans there could be a broken mount. If there is internal damage, then there might be the need to remove the trans.
