Volvo: Volvo 244 1979 Electrics, volvo 244, battery cables

Question
When i use the turn indicator on my 1979 244 Volvo the main fuel pump pulses in time with the indicator and the warning light (seat belt one) in center dash flashes as well. Also the car has on several occasions recently lost power intermittently at highway speed after driving for about an hour or so continuously, if i back off on the accelerator for while it comes good again and runs fine?

Check the entire charging sytem and battery cables both ends. Clean the cables at the battery and the grounds at the block and the chassis. Inspect the wire harness under the hood and repair as needed.
For the running loss of power make sure that the fuel tank screen (pick up) is clean. Also most of those cars if they did not have one already had pre pumps installed in the tank as do the later model cars.
