Question

MY VOLVO
HI I OWNED A 87 VOLVO 960 THE CHECK ENGINE IS ON WHEN I SEARCH FOR CODES WITH THE OBDII IT SAYS PISTON 6 MISFIRE I CHANGE THE COIL PACK I CHANGE NEW SPARKPLUGS AND NOTHINGS GETS SOLVED SOME TIMES MY CAR SHAKES NOT ALL THE TIME WHEN ITS NOT RUNNING AND WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLUSHES IT LOOSES POWER DO YOU THINK IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM

Answer
Nestor,
Any time a vehicle is not running well it should be looked at to determine the seriousness of the fault. Without being able to see your car it is hard to say how serious the problem is. Your codes indicate a misfire, and you have to a certain extent eliminated the plugs and coils. You might have a stuck valve in that cylinder, a vacuum leak in the intake manifold, maybe an injector that is not spraying well or leaking vacuum or not getting power.
