Volvo: Volvo S80 Timing Belt / VVT adjustment, volvo s80, cam gears

Question
I replaced my timing belt ensuring that the cam gears/crank did not turn. Reassembled. Car runs rough at idle now and generates Check Engine Code P0011- Timing advanced error. Is there a way to adjust the VVT cam gear to correct this? Took VVT solenoid off top of intake to ensure oil had been flowing thru it, which it appeared to be op. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Tommy,
If you just set the belt on TDC without going past 90* and backing up to the mark the VVT is not set. That means you will need the special tools to hold the cams while the VVT is removed to reset it. Get the book for you vehicle and look up the correct procedure to remove belt. Them look up the resetting of the VVT. Some auto parts stores have the service to print out service procedures.
