Volvo: 2004 V70 ABS/Brakes, abs brakes, speed signal

Question
I was driving moderately when I noticed the ABS and Brake lights were on.  I stopped and waited a few minutes then restarted the car.  After a few moments the lights came on again.  I drove about 10 miles to my home.  In the process I began experiencing transmission problems.. Starting fom a stop, it felt like I was in the Winter mode.  I heard some noises, and when I shifted from Park to Drive or Reverse it banged.  I had no problem braking.  Also, the Engine light came on.  At my home I checked the fluid levels.  There was no brake fluid at all. Do you have any ideas as to the problem or what actions I should take. Thank you very much.

Answer
Paul,
If all the brake fluid has leaked out look for the leak. Then read and clear the codes in the ABS. Drive the car to see if the codes return. There have been many problems with the ABS control unit. So that could be the entire problem. If the control unit is bad it will not send the speed signal to the trans and that in turn will turn on the check engine light and make the trans shift poorly.
