Volvo: 92 volvo 240 - check engine - code #241?, vacuum source, solenoid valve

Question
I have a 92 volvo 240 and have recently got a check engine light. I got a code reading of #241 on number 6 terminal. Does anyone know what that means and how to correct this problem? Thank you in advance.

Answer
George,
The code you have is for the EGR system. Egr flow faulty. You can test to see if the egr works, if not see if the lines are possibilty blocked. Run the engine at idle and hook up a vacuum source to the egr, apply some vacuum and the idle should begin to stumble. That indicates the egr can open and work. If that is the case then somewhere the system can not apply the vacuum and open the egr. Vacuum lines egr solenoid valve or wiring, control unit. If the engine runs smooth with vacuum applied the lines to the valve are clogged.
