Volvo: 1985 Volvo 240 Wagon, volvo 240 wagon, salvage yards

Question
Recently our 240 was rear ended and was "totaled". We settled with the insurance company and also purchased the car back from them. The estimate we received for repair was $4-5,000 which isn't worth it. My question is, how do I go about selling the parts on this vehicle? Let me point out that we purchased it from a 240 expert that restored the car to an amazing condition. Like new seats, etc. Any suggestions?

Answer
Victoria,
There are a few Volvo only salvage yards and one might be in your area. They might want to purchase the car for salvage. You could list parts on E-bay or Craig's list for the vehicle also. Is there a Volvo only shop in your area that might be interested? Now some yards consider 85 too old to buy. Most keep cars only like 96 to 98 and up. The sales for the older ones is far and few between.
