Volvo: volvo s60 sunroof, screw driver, volvo s60

Question
QUESTION: My 2004 S60's sunroof stopped working two weeks ago. Tried it today and it opened about 1" and now it won't open or close. I read it maybe alarm system related, I did get a message recently saying to have my alarm system checked. Does this make sense? is there anyway to manually close the sunroof until I get it in the shop? AAA had to recently open the car due to keys being locked in it. Could this have screwed up the alarm system?

Thank you in advance for you reply.

ANSWER: Brian,
Pull off the panel over the button and look for the motor. That motor should have a slot for a screw driver that you can close the roof. As for the power fault yes there might be an issue with the alarm. The cars needs to be tested for faults and power to the fused for the sun roof.

QUESTION: Ray, I did pull off the cover and looked for the slot but I did not find one. Is there a chance this car does not have that option or do I need to look harder?

Answer
Brian,
If you are looking at the motor and there is not a slot, you could try to pull out the motor and close the roof manually. I would also look in the owners manual to see if there are any hints there.
Best advice get to the dealer so they can plug in and get any code and try the motor through the scan tool.
