Volvo: 1985 240 Sedan, oil leaks, ball joints

Question
I found a 1985 240 sedan on craigslist with only 46,000 original miles. The guy who's owned it has kept it garaged, never driven in winter, drove it only for short trips to see his sister and to Cape Cod (from Boston). He has replaced the hoses/tires/belts and says it is in impeccable shape. So...what should I be aware of/looking for/concerned about if it looks good on the surface?

Help!

Answer
Tiffany,
Change all the filters and fluids. Check for oil leaks (dried seals). Check the timing belt. Have a good inspection under the hood and under the car. Bushings and rubber boots over the ball joints front end and rear axle parts, etc for cracks and drying out. If in doubt have it relace and or renewed.
