Fault code 1171 is a generic code, not a manufactures code. It means fuel trim, the ability to keep the mixture consistant. Vacuum leaks, bad injectors, MAF sensor, H02S sensors, too high or low fuel pressure, contaminated engine oil, download of new software. A Volvo code might be more specific. At this point get the car to a Volvo shop that can make some tests and see where the problem is.
