Volvo: sunroof, volvo s90, switch wiring

Question
i have a 98 volvo s90, the sunroof did open and close at one time. when i hit the switch to open or close the sunroof it just makes noise but it doesn't do anything. i have checked the fuse but it is fine. what can be the problem, the switch, wiring failure or the motor? Thanks

Answer
Damaris,
Do you hear the sun roof motor make a nosie? If not then the power supplt maybe the trouble. If you do hear it "click" then it might be jammed. The sun roof gates at the rear of the roof tend to come apart and jam the roof. You can take the cover off the motor and you will see a slot(in the motor) that a  large screwdriver will fit into. You can use that to operate the roof manually. However by prepared to complete that repair, once you get the roof open you may not be able to close it properly until you replace any and all broken pieces. They are a bit tricky to work on so be prepared.
