Volvo: 83 volvo station, volvo dealership, high mileage

i'm looking to buy my first car and i went to a volvo dealership yesterday and found a 83 volvo staion for $1900. its in pretty good condition but it has 233000 miles on it... i offered them 13000 for it and they would give it to me for that.... is that a good deal? could i find a car for that price with less milage if i kept looking?

I am sure that you can find a car with less miles, but you may not know the condition. This car you seen make sure that you take it somewhere that works on Volvo's, to have it inspected and where they will give you a list of things good and bad. With high mileage there is a good chance there are things that will need attention. That will be an expence in addition to the cost of the vehicle.
