Volvo: ignition inhibitor, volvo s80, 2000 volvo s80

What does this message mean? The car tries to start but just won't turn over. It is a 2000 Volvo S80. Any insight?

The inhibitor is stopping the vehicle from running. Try turning off the alarm, use the remote and if that will not work cycle the key in the door lock. If all that fails you will need to read any fault codes and see what they say. Towing the car to the dealer might be a good option.
