Volvo: 1996 Volvo 960 sedan, chevron techron, 1996 volvo 960

Question
My 1996 960 Volvo (72K miles) has been running differently for about a year and the computer at the dealership doesn't come up with any errors.  It will be louder and rougher when accelerating. It seems to get better when the car has been running for a while.  The smooth acceleration is gone.  Dealer mechanic said to try Chevron Techron to clean fuel injectors, I did this twice and it seemed to help a little but still is not near 100%.  Please help this is bugging me every time I drive.

Answer
Julie,
Many times the motor mounts get weak and the not able to absorb the engine vibrations. That could be what you are feeling in the car. Go to a shop that knows the Volvo's and have them look at the mounts. There is also a very good chance that the trans mount is also bad. Mounts installed around $400.00. There might also be a problem in the driveshaft center bearing and at times the bearing support can be shimmed to help smooth out the vibration.
