Volvo: 94 Volvo 940 Turbo lack power, volvo 940, tank works

Question
On yesterday 9/25/07, my 94 Volvo 940 Turbo began to lack power under a load. Cannot get above 30 - 40 mph. The car idles very well and when manually moving the accelerator from under the hood slowly, it will gain power.

I maintain the car very well. It has 157,000 miles with the most recent tune-up being Aug 07.

I'm a little mechanically inclined and I do have a really good mechanic, so any advise or suggestion is greatly appreciative.

Answer
Thomas,
Check fuel pumps, filter, intake and intercooler hoses. Make sure the feed pump in the tank works. See if there are any holes in the intake or intercooler hoses, also the intercooler itself. See if the timing belt slipped and is out of time. Read any fault codes and see if they will lead to any problems?
