Volvo: 244 DL engine starting and stopping at random, volvo 244, fuel pressure

Hi Ray!

I have a volvo 244 DL that seems to have hissy fits everynow and then.  If I am driving, the engine will die completely and it will take at least 5 or 6 cranks to turn the engine back on.  It does this on and off, sometimes not happening for a few weeks, and the check engine light turns on and off.  It seems to me maybe this is electrical?  When the engine dies, it dies completely, it doesnt seem like it is loosing fuel pressure... Thanks!

When this happens you need to know that you have fuel pressure and what it is. Does the feed pump work? Are you loosing spark? These tests need to be done quickly and then you will have a direction to go in. How about the codes in the system read those and see if they help find the problem.
