Volvo: Dashboard..., ash tray, master ray

Question
Hello Master Ray,
I'm trying to replace the dashboard in my 1993GLT but can not take it off.I do not know what is  holding it beside the 2 screws on the roof of the dashboards' frame it self and the 2 inside clippers. would you please guide me through  so that the dashboard wont drive me nuts. (O'ready). :)

Answer
Mo,
Take off the wipers and the cowl. There are 4 bolts that go into he dashboard. Under the dash left there are wires that go upward and attach to the dash. Separate the wire harness. Pull the console out and notice the bolts under the ash tray. One bolt each side into the "A" post lower pillar. Remove the steering wheel to allow the dash to come out. If the car has manual climate control, remove the cover plate and allow the unit itself to stay in the car (do not remove with the dash). Pull off the "A" post trim mouldings for room. Move any additional wires and pieces in the way. Any way you look at this job it is nerve racking and tough.
