Volvo: volvo 240se j reg petrol, vapors, petrol

hi a mate has a 240 year 1990 it starts ok but if he stop it before its up 2 working temp it wont start till it cold again. but once it up 2temp its spot on. I took a plug out when it wodnt start it was dry with no smell of petrol please help  thanks   TAZ

Check the fuel rest pressure. When hot the gas between the pump and the rail flows back to the tank and only vapors remain. That then means alot of cranking to restart. Cold there are not vapors and gas can flow very fast. Also test to see that the in tank pump is working. That will cause running and derivability and starting or vapor locking problems.
