Volvo: Lost power to air condidtioner after battery was changed, climate control unit, auto zone

Question
I had my battery replaced by Auto Zone.  After they replaced the battery my air conditioner stopped working along with other controls on the car in the area of the a/c controls, seat warmers, gear shifts lights, etc..  They told me they would pay for me to have the Computer reprogrammed because it lost it codes and they forget to put the backup deal in teh cig lighter before changing the battery.  But when I took it to have it repaired they told me it fried the climate control unit.  Auto Zone said they were not responsable and they could not have done this by changing the battery.  Have you ever heard of this happening?

Answer
Jackie,
I am not sure if the cause of the a/c is due to the battery, but I do know that if someone had installed a battery incorrectly and reversed the poles damage to some control units could occur. Also on some model cars there are power wires that also go to the battery, could those have been left off and then misdiagnosed as a "blown" control head? Try and have the car looked at by a shop that works on Volvos as they know the "little problems" that those cars indeed have.
