Volvo: 1993 Volvo 850, battery cables, volvo 850

Question
Hi
I read the question from Pedro (April 27, 2007). My Volvo is doing the same thing. In addition to what Pedro wrote - when this happens to me, all the indicator lights flash just before it quits. When it restarts I smell a burn smell. I have replaced the air mass meter, and the catalytic converter - no luck. I have been to two mechanics who ran diagnostics to fix this. This car has had regular service, has 150K miles & is in great shape. Any thoughts?

Answer
Rose,
The flashing indicator lights would indicate that there is an electrcal fault. If the problem does not happen ofter then it will be tought o find. Loose or corroded battery cables, fuel pump that stops, flywheel pick up is failing, and the list could go on. How about leaving the car at a shop that works on Volvo so they can drive the car for a few days to find out what is happening.
