Volvo: volvo 960 failure to start, volvo 960, blue cable


Question
i have problem with my volvo 960 GL,where the engine could't start/running.because there's no current enter to the coil.there are 2 cable enter to coil.first blue cable and the 2nd is red white.spark plug,distributor and sensor cable(flywhell) normal condition.can i jump the red white cable to any current? because the problem is the're no current enter to coil.

I am not sure the cars I work on in the United States are the same as what you describe. Our 6 cyl. has a coil to each plug and has no distributor. All the US cars from 90 up have fault codes to be read, do you have any fault codes. On the US version car if the coils don't get power I try the power stages that's mounted on the lower front and rear of the intake manifold. Other things that are possible, ground wires on block by the left side motor mount, control unit, shorted out coils, fuse for control unit.
