Volvo: 960 noise, rear seat area, ball joints

Question
i have a 96 960 which i have some kind of noise that sounds like rubbing when i go over small bumps and even slow like in a parking lot. at first i thought it was coming from under the rear seat area but now i think it may be coming from the front. i have 70,000 miles on it. i replaced all shocks and struts. front control arm bushings, ball joints, all brakes and rotors. this is not a noise like a loose exhaust. could a u joint be the problem and would it make noises over bumps? how bout the center bearing. i can wiggle the driveshaft a little bit at the center bearing. maybe a little movement is normal?

Answer
Kenton,
Some movement in the driveshaft is normal and ok. The noise will be something that will require time to drive the car and then continue to look for it. Sorry no short answer is available. Must hear the noise and feel for it. Check for bad motor mounts (engine rubs on frame). Make sure the springs are not broken. See if the tires rub in the wheel wells.
