Volvo: 1989 740 gl engine replace, cold start, plug wires

Question
Ray, Recently i replaced my 89 B230f with a 92 B230f. The only thing i swapped was the engine block & the head. I used the intake off the 89, and all the sensors, including the cold start injector. replaced plugs, plug wires, dist cap and rotor.Put flywheel pickup sensor off 89. Did this because i knew it was all good. 89 ran great ,till it lost #4 cylinder at 300,000 miles. Engine now tries to start but won't. Timing marks are all lined up correctly. When i lay the 4 plugs on top of the engine, and crank the motor, #1 cyl & #4 have good spark, but nothing on #2 & #3. Let it sit for 5 seconds and crank it again, then i have spark on #2 & #3, but nothing on #1 & #4. I'm stumped. Would you possibly have any suggestions ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JIM

Answer
Jim,
Check to make sure the flywheel is on correct. It sounds like the system is out of time. See the pick up sees the windows pass and allows the spark to flow. It has a certain way to go on so it can reference number one cylinder and set up all the sequence.
